Spanish Wedding Inspiration

I wanted to share this absolutely stunning styled wedding shoot that I just stumbled across on blog.karentran.com whilst looking for spanish design influences for one of my brides.  The shoot was actually styled as a Moroccan theme but with us being located just across the wáter from Morocco, the architecture of southern Andalucia has lots of moorish influences and this styling would suit a wedding at one of our venues perfectly.  I love the mix of extravagent luxury mixed with rustic and vintage touches, the spanish lace, the gold brushed wedding cake, the use of fresh fruit and to die for flowers.  A wedding to dream about!

Getting married in Spain and surviving the heat

So you have decided to book your wedding in Spain and we don’t blame you as who wants to risk the wonderfully wet and cold weather of the great British Summer.  Now you just need to make sure that your wedding guests don’t melt in shock of the heat of a Spanish Summer.  Here are some of our favorite ideas to keep your guests cool and refreshed throughout the day, ensuring they party long into the night!

Wedding Fans – an absolute essential and available in a wide range to suit all wedding styles.  They are also great as doubling up as favors for your guests and can be personalized with a simple gift tag or even printed with your order of service or your menus.

Paper Parasols – not only practical but also very pretty and can offer a welcome bit of shade for your guests during your wedding ceremony.

Lemonade Stand – what is more cooling and refreshing than ice cold homemade lemonade, loved by both adults and children alike.

Cooling Station – our favorite idea and a fun and thoughtful addition to any cocktail hour to greet your guests with after the ceremony.  You can include ice cold towels, refreshing facial sprays in cucumber, mint and lavender,  buckets of ice cold drinks or vintage glass dispensers filled with your favorite chilled cocktail. Fans, insect repellents and sun screen are also a nice practical touch along with some flipflops for any tired feet.

Refreshing Cocktails - With Signature Cocktails being all the rage this year we love these simple Prosecco and Ice Lolly Cocktails.

Ice Lollies - Lastly and another of our favorites are these super cute and super yummy Mojito Popsicles.

El Cortijo de los Caballos - Lisa & Paul - What a day!

A huge congratulations to the rather lovely Mr & Mrs Condon who were recently married at El Cortijo de los Caballos- I will let the pictures speak for themselves - what a fabulous day and oh how I will miss you xxx

Hi Rachel & Johnny,

We are just home (boo). We just had a proper look at the photos, they are fab. Anna Gazda is so so clever! They really captured the whole day from start to finish & how much fun we all had. I love the reportage style from the start of the day to the very end.

The Cortijo looked amazing (not difficult as it's such a special spot anyway), thanks to all of your hard work on the day (busted toe and all) and the months before. It was such a pleasure getting to know you guys, working with you and spending time with you over the weekend. You both worked so hard to make our day really special and exactly how we hoped it would be. It really paid off. I love that you are both totally chilled out & so easy to work with & other than the possibility of rain nothing phased you at all, not even the singing men in tights or our rock star friend (lol)!!!

I don't know how we managed to get so lucky with all of the suppliers, they really were all so professional & so good. Fiesta Sols food was amazing & was really loved by all, I'm going to dream about that lobster salad... Apart from the food, their staff were so nice, really friendly & couldn't do enough for us (thanks Heather & Alex).

BWS supplied a mountain of drink, they said there was no way that anyone could drink it all but in fairness maybe they haven't seen that many Irish weddings! We almost got through the 1200 bottles of beer, almost!! Again they were great to deal with, so efficient & even delivered that giant fridge to ensure that drinks were cold at all times. Flor Valentin's flowers were beautiful & exactly the look we were going for. The Tunos band were a laugh, I thought I was going to choke when I saw them at the top of the aisle! My poor waiting husband didn't get a look in I was totally distracted by the three men clad in black tights! They were really good & having live Spanish music really set the scene. DJ DC Dez Calton, what a legend, great tunes for as long as we could keep going! I have to mention Alex Harrocks (hair) & Lyndsey Cavanagh (make up) not only did they spend the whole day making us look beautiful, they were so much fun & I hope to meet up with them for some cava next time we are in Spain.

I better stop before I take up your whole facebook page!! I'm so jealous (seriously) of all you brides out there who have all of this ahead of you, you are so lucky & fortunate to have found Rachel & Johnny, I would do it all again in a heart beat. Maybe we could renew our vows next year???? R & J thank you for lending us your beautiful venue for our wedding & making it very special for both of us & all our guests. I'm frantically trying to find some newly engaged couples to persuade to book the Cortijo or your super new venue just so I can go! We are already trying to arrange a trip over again next year, we'll keep you posted it would be great to see you both again.

Best of luck everyone with your upcoming wedding, enjoy & don't try & go in the jacuzzi riding the inflatable airplane - my legs are still black & blue!!

Lots of love Lisa & Paul xxxx
